No, Dermal Fillers are not permanent. Depending on the type used, results typically last between 6 to 18 months. We offer both short and longer lasting treatments to suit your needs. Since hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body, it is gradually broken down over time by the enzyme hyaluronidase, which your body naturally produces.
Yes, Dermal Filler are a reversible treatment and in the very unlikely event you are dissatisfied with the results, the product can be broken down by use of hyaluronidase enzyme injections. Thankfully, we rarely ever have to do this!
While Dermal Filler treatments are generally quick and require no downtime, some patients may experience mild bruising. These effects are usually temporary and resolve naturally within a few days.
Dermal Fillers can be used for treatment of:
You can immediately return to your normal daily activities with no or little sign that you have had anything done! Aftercare includes avoiding touching the nose or wearing make up for 12 hours and avoiding wearing glasses or sunglasses for 1 week whilst the gel sets. Avoid sunbathing, sauna or steam rooms and lasers or facials for 2 weeks after treatment. Any bruising that appears, though this is rare and usually very mild, can be covered with concealer after 12 hours. We also advise avoiding dental treatment for 2 weeks post treatment and avoiding heavy exercise for this period as well. 1 in 10 patients may need to return for a top up after the 4 week mark depending on the nose and tissue type to touch up the nose once the swelling dissipates. This is included in the treatment cost and is free of charge if needed.
